More about OFA →

Safety is the first priority

Aircraft are maintained to the highest standards with strict FAA 100-hour inspections and preventative maintenance. You receive personal attention from experienced instructors who bring real-world expertise to every lesson.

One-on-one, on your schedule

Our flexible Part 61 curriculum adapts to you. Individualized instruction — not an assembly line — reduces both your training time and your total cost compared with rigid, one-size-fits-all programs.

Instructors who fly for a living

Every instructor holds a Commercial Pilot License, flies limited hours each day so they arrive sharp, and personally endorses your logbook. Several are building toward — or already flying — professional airline careers.

Grounded in Oklahoma

A family-founded academy built on an aviation legacy passed down through generations. We are proud to teach the next generation of Oklahoma pilots — for fun, for freedom, or for a career amid a historic pilot shortage.

Training programs

Your climb starts on the ground.

From your very first flight to a professional career — every rating OFA trains, flown one-on-one in one glass-cockpit fleet.

First step

Take a Discovery Flight

A Discovery Flight is an affordable, no-commitment introduction to flying. You do not sit back and watch — you take the controls, with a Certified Flight Instructor beside you every step of the way. It is the perfect way to find out, first-hand, whether learning to fly is right for you.

  1. Meet your instructor

We start on the ground with a walk-around of the aircraft and a plain-English preview of what the flight will feel like. Bring your questions — and your camera.

  2. Take the controls

Once you are airborne over the Tulsa-area skies, your instructor hands you the controls. This is low-pressure, hands-on flying — your chance to feel the freedom and wonder of being in the pilot’s seat.

  3. Talk about what’s next

Back on the ground we walk through what training looks like for you — the path to a certificate, realistic timelines, and honest costs. No pressure, no sales script.

Honest, upfront pricing

$9,000–$12,000

What a Private Pilot certificate typically costs at OFA for a consistent student who meets FAA minimums on the first attempt. How often you fly is the biggest factor — and our flexible, one-on-one program keeps you efficient.
