A family legacy, passed forward
Oklahoma Flight Academy was founded on a love of aviation handed down through the Edwards family.
Owner Allan Edwards grew up around airplanes. His father, Gary Edwards, was an aviation engineer and pilot whose legacy — a lifetime of precision, curiosity, and respect for flight — became the foundation this academy is built on.
That inheritance shows up in how we teach. OFA runs a flexible Part 61 program built around one-on-one instruction that adapts to each student’s schedule and pace, rather than forcing everyone through a rigid timeline. For most students, that personal approach means less time and less money spent reaching the same certificate.
We hold ourselves to strict FAA standards — 100-hour inspections, preventative maintenance, and full TSA Alien Flight Student Program compliance — because the responsibility of flight deserves nothing less. Our mission is simple: prepare the next generation of Oklahoma pilots to fly safely, whether for personal freedom or a professional career.
“Help students become capable, confident pilots in an environment that feels disciplined, modern, and personal.”
-
Safety is the first priority
Aircraft are maintained to the highest standards with strict FAA 100-hour inspections and preventative maintenance. You receive personal attention from experienced instructors who bring real-world expertise to every lesson.
-
One-on-one, on your schedule
Our flexible Part 61 curriculum adapts to you. Individualized instruction — not an assembly line — reduces both your training time and your total cost compared with rigid, one-size-fits-all programs.
-
Instructors who fly for a living
Every instructor holds a Commercial Pilot License, flies limited hours each day so they arrive sharp, and personally endorses your logbook. Several are building toward — or already flying — professional airline careers.
